How many bitcoins are worth more today than the price they last changed hands at — coins sitting in profit.
Every coin carries the price it last moved at. This adds up all the coins whose last-moved price is **below** today's price, so whoever holds them is ahead.
The count would climb through rallies until nearly every coin is in profit — the top-heavy state seen near past peaks — and collapse in crashes, which historically marked the cheapest moments. For example, 18 million ₿ in profit out of 19.9 million would mean roughly 90% of all coins are **above** water.
In words: add up every bitcoin whose last-moved price sits **below** today's price.
This chart has no line yet. The outside feed that used to supply it was switched off for good, and **our own Bitcoin node** is still recounting the record from the very first block, so there is nothing honest to draw.
