The percentage of all circulating bitcoin whose last-moved price is **below** today's price — in other words, the share of coins whose owners are ahead.
It would approach 100% at excited market tops when almost every coin is in profit, and collapse toward 0% in crashes, which historically marked the cheapest moments. For example, 62% would mean roughly six coins in every ten are **above** water while four are underwater. Being a percentage, it compares cleanly across different cycles.
