BTC Order Walls

Where people have parked buy and sell orders around Bitcoin's price, painted over the candles. Cold purple is a thin book; hot yellow and orange is a wall — a lot of dollars waiting at that price. Green bars on the right are bids (buys sitting below price); red bars are asks (sells sitting above). We photograph Binance's BTCUSDT perpetual book every 15 minutes. History starts the day the camera turned on and cannot be bought back.

A time-lapse of the visible order book: at each price, how many dollars of resting limit orders were sitting there when we took the photo. Candles are the trades that actually happened. The right-hand bars are the latest photo, split into bids below the price and asks above it.

For example, a bright orange stripe at 111,000 that the candles bounce off is a wall — many sell orders parked there. If that stripe fades before price arrives, the wall was pulled. Purple means almost nobody is waiting. This is a map of parked orders, not a prediction.

Every 15 minutes we download Binance's BTCUSDT-perp book (the 1,000 nearest levels — on this pair that is about $100 around the price, not a 3% canyon). We add their dollar size into bins of about $50. Colour is that dollar size, scaled so the hottest 5% of bins read as walls. Candles are the same venue's 15-minute (or 1-hour on the 30-day view) klines.

Binance publishes the live book only — nobody sells the past book for free, so this archive cannot be backfilled. We keep 30 days of photos. Iceberg and hidden orders are invisible. A wall is size at that instant, not a promise those orders will still be there. Range chips are 24H / 7D / 30D — that is as far as the photos go. Perpetual book, not spot. The 1,000-level snapshot is the top of the book, not the whole canyon CoinGlass sells.

Sampled every 15 minutes from the public Binance futures depth endpoint into our own book_heat table. Candles from Binance perp klines. Collected since 14 August 2026 — nothing is fetched from CoinGlass or any other heatmap vendor.
