BTC Price Candles
One candle for every hour. Each candle shows where Bitcoin's price started that hour, the highest and lowest it traded, and where it ended. Green means it finished higher than it started, red means lower. Bars underneath show how much was traded. History goes back to August 2017.
One candle for every hour. A candle is a single bar showing four things at once: the starting price of that hour, the highest and lowest price traded, and the finishing price.
The thick body is the distance between the starting and finishing price; the thin lines **above** and **below** show how far the price stretched and came back within the hour. For example, a candle that opens at $103,000, dips to $101,500 and closes at $103,200 tells you a quick sell-off was bought back inside one hour.
Tall volume bars under a candle mean real money was behind that move rather than a thin, easily reversed one.
Nothing is calculated โ we store Binance's starting, highest, lowest and finishing price plus the traded amount for each hour exactly as that exchange publishes it.
One exchange **only** (Binance BTC/USDT), so it **is not** a whole-market average and other exchanges will differ slightly. Nothing before 17 August 2017 exists on this timeframe.
Our own database. Every 1-hour candle is downloaded straight from Binance's public BTC/USDT market, history back to 17 August 2017, refreshed by our own hourly job.
