BTC Ichimoku Cloud: $79,676.63
Five lines drawn around Bitcoin's price to show its trend at a glance, including a shaded band โ the cloud โ plotted 26 days ahead. Price above the cloud means the trend has been up, below means down, inside means undecided.
A Japanese charting set-up made of five lines: a fast 9-day midpoint, a slower 26-day midpoint, a shaded band drawn 26 days into the future marking where buyers and sellers previously dug in, and today's price echoed 26 days back for comparison. The Layers chips under the chart show or hide each piece.
The quickest read is where the price sits against the shaded cloud. For example, with the price at $110,000 and the cloud's top edge at $96,000, the price is clearly **above** the cloud โ the trend has been up, and $96,000 is the level the cloud says buyers defended before. Inside the cloud means no clear trend either way.
A green cloud means its two edges are stacked in the **rising** order, red means the reverse. The cloud is drawn 26 days ahead of today, so its right-hand edge is a projection of numbers we already know, not a price forecast.
In words: each line is the midpoint between the highest and lowest price over a window โ 9 days for the fast line, 26 for the slower one, 52 for the far cloud edge. The cloud is shifted 26 days forward and the echo line is today's price shifted 26 days back [standard Ichimoku 9/26/52].
The high and low windows use daily CLOSING prices, not the true highest and lowest prices reached inside each day, because our long history back to 2010 stores one price per day. We keep the same method across the whole chart rather than switching in 2017 where finer data begins.
