BTC Market Cap: $1.60T
What every bitcoin in existence is worth, added together. It is simply today's price multiplied by the number of coins mined so far, which is why this line looks almost identical to the price chart. One value per calendar day.
The total dollar value of all the bitcoin that has been mined: today's price multiplied by the coins in circulation. It is the number people use to compare Bitcoin's overall size against gold, big company shares or other coins.
The coin count barely changes from one day to the next, so this line rises and falls with the price and tells you almost the same story. Use it for a sense of scale rather than for timing.
For example, at about $2.2 trillion, all bitcoin together is worth roughly a tenth of all the gold in the world and about the same as one very large technology company.
Taken exactly as blockchain.info publishes it: price multiplied by coins in circulation. We store **one value per calendar day**, stamped at midnight UTC. Today's value is still forming and can move until the day ends.
One value per calendar day โ asking for an hourly view still shows daily points. The coin count includes several million coins whose owners lost access forever, so the amount anyone could actually buy or sell is smaller than this number suggests.
