BTC Moving Averages: $79,676.63
Bitcoin's price with its 50-day, 100-day and 200-day average prices drawn on top. The averages smooth out daily noise so the direction of the trend is easy to see.
Three smoothed lines. Each is simply the average closing price over the last 50, 100 or 200 days, recalculated every day. The longer the window, the slower and steadier the line.
Price **above** all three lines, with the shortest line on top, is the classic picture of an up-trend; price below all three with the order reversed is a down-trend. For example, bitcoin at $110,000 while the 200-day average sits at $92,000 means the price is about 20% above its year-long average โ strong, but not extreme by Bitcoin's standards.
Averages describe what already happened; they **never** lead the price.
In words: for each day, take the average closing price of the previous 50, 100 and 200 days and plot those three values under the price.
Averages always lag, so they confirm a turn after it happened rather than warning of it. They use daily closing prices, so a swing that happened and reversed inside a day leaves no mark.
