BTC BTC Volatility (30D realized): 46.56%
How turbulent Bitcoin has been over the last 30 days, scaled up to a yearly figure and shown as a percentage. Higher means bigger daily swings.
A measure of how much bitcoin's daily price moves have varied over the past 30 days, scaled up to what that pace would look like across a full year. It measures the size of the swings, **never** their direction.
For example, 45% means that if the last 30 days carried on all year, bitcoin's price would typically end up within about 45% either side of where it started. Readings **above** 80% have come with panic selling and blow-off tops; **below** 30% has come during long calm ranges, and in past cycles those quiet stretches were followed by large moves.
There is no good or bad level โ read it against Bitcoin's own history.
In words: take each day's percentage price change over the last 30 days, work out how much those changes vary from one another, then scale the result up to a full year by multiplying by the square root of 365.
It uses daily closing prices, so swings that happened and reversed inside a day are not captured. It measures how big the moves were, **never** whether they went up or down.
