BTC Monthly RSI: 51.31
A 0 to 100 score of how one-sided Bitcoin's price moves have been, worked out from monthly prices across its entire history. Above 70 has come at cycle tops; below 30 at the deepest bottoms.
It compares the size of Bitcoin's up-months with the size of its down-months over the last 14 months and turns that into a score from 0 to 100. Fifty means ups and downs balanced out; high means the ups have dominated for a long time; low means the downs have.
For example, a reading of 82 means the last 14 months have been overwhelmingly winning months; **below** 30 means more than a year of grinding losses. The line is coloured cold blue at low readings and hot red at high ones. One point per month means it moves very slowly, so do not expect it to react to a single week โ and the newest point is the month that is still running, so it can move again before that month closes.
It summarises the last 14 months. It **does not** describe the next one.
In words: over the last 14 months, average the size of the up-months and the size of the down-months, then express the up-share as a score out of 100 [Wilder's 14-period RSI on month-end closing prices]. The current month uses the latest price available.
The first 14 months of history are used to start the calculation and are not shown, and our price history begins in August 2010, so nothing before 2011 appears. With one point per month it always confirms a turn well after it happened.
