BTC Colored Power Law: $79,676.63
Bitcoin's price with each day coloured by how it ranks against every other day in history for distance from the long-term trend. Deep blue days were among the cheapest ever against trend; deep red among the most stretched.
For every day we measure how far the price sat from the fitted long-term growth line, then rank that distance against every other day in Bitcoin's history. The colour is that ranking โ blue for the cheapest, **red** for the most stretched.
The grey line is the trend itself.
The colour answers 'how unusual was this, historically?'. For example, a deep blue dot means that day ranked in the cheapest few percent of all days ever measured against trend.
Deep **red** means the opposite. Because the ranking covers the whole record, clusters of blue mark the quiet years and clusters of red mark the manic top of each cycle.
In words: measure each day's distance from the fitted growth line, rank all those distances across the entire history, and colour each price dot by where it lands in that ranking.
The ranking uses the full history, including days that came after each point, so a dot's colour is partly hindsight โ the same convention the well-known version of this chart uses, but it means the colours were not knowable at the time.
