BTC Whale Supply (1kโ10k BTC): 4.15M
How much bitcoin sits in whale-sized wallets โ addresses holding between 1,000 and 10,000 โฟ. Big enough to move the market, small enough to be individual owners rather than only exchanges.
The total bitcoin held in addresses whose current balance is at least 1,000 โฟ and under 10,000 โฟ. 'Whale' is simply the label for that size band; an address is one account number on the blockchain.
Rising means this tier is buying and holding; **falling** means it is selling or splitting coins into smaller addresses. For example, a rise from 1.60 million โฟ to 1.66 million โฟ over a month means about 60,000 โฟ flowed into whale-sized addresses โ more than four times what miners created in that month.
The direction of the change matters more than the level.
Each day **our own Bitcoin node** adds up the current balance of every address holding at least 1,000 โฟ and less than 10,000 โฟ.
This counts addresses, not people: one owner can hold many addresses, and coins moving between an owner's own wallets can shift the band without anything being bought or sold. Our node currently shows history from 2023 and fills in earlier years as it finishes recounting the blockchain from the first block.
