How many separate addresses hold between 1 and 10 ₿ — the 'owns at least one whole bitcoin' group that people watch as an adoption gauge. A count of addresses, not people.
The number of addresses whose current balance is at least 1 ₿ and under 10 ₿, counted fresh each day.
Owning a whole bitcoin is a milestone many people aim at, which is why this count is widely followed. For example, a rise from 1.00 million to 1.05 million addresses over a year means roughly 50,000 more wallets crossed the one-coin line.
It tends to grow steadily in most conditions, so a stall means new buyers have stopped reaching that size.
Each day **our own Bitcoin node** counts every address holding at least 1 ₿ and less than 10 ₿.
This counts addresses, not people: one person can easily own several addresses in this band, so it is a gauge of small-scale ownership rather than a headcount. Our node currently shows history from 2023 and fills in earlier years as it finishes recounting the blockchain from the first block.
