BTC Supply Held by Addresses ≥1,000 ₿: 7.18M
All the bitcoin held in addresses of 1,000 ₿ or more, added together — the whale and humpback bands combined. It counts addresses, not owners.
The total bitcoin sitting in every address whose balance is 1,000 ₿ or more. It is simply the two largest size bands added together.
This is the broadest measure of how much bitcoin sits in very large hands. For example, 8.0 million ₿ out of 19.9 million in existence means roughly 40% of all bitcoin is in addresses of 1,000 coins or more — much of that being exchange and fund storage rather than individuals.
Watch which way it moves over months; the level on its own says more about how exchanges organise wallets than about who owns what.
Each day **our own Bitcoin node** adds together the coins held in the 1,000-to-10,000 ₿ band and the 10,000-and-over band.
This counts addresses, not people or companies: one exchange address can hold thousands of customers' coins, so a large total **does not** mean a few individuals own the market. Our node currently shows history from 2023 and fills in earlier years as it finishes recounting the blockchain from the first block.
