BTC Meme Heat vs BTC: 4.49%
How hard the joke coins are running compared with Bitcoin. High positive readings mean money is chasing the silliest end of the market; deep negative readings mean that appetite has drained away.
The average price change over the last 30 days of six tracked meme coins (DOGE, SHIB, PEPE, WIF, BONK and FLOKI), minus bitcoin's 30-day price change, in percentage points. A thermometer for appetite for risk.
For example, +40 points means the meme coins gained 40 percentage points more than bitcoin over the past month โ in past cycles that kind of reading came late, once money had run out of better ideas. A reading of โ25 means they lagged bitcoin badly, which has come with money retreating toward the safest crypto asset.
It measures relative movement **only**, so a positive reading during a crash just means the memes fell less.
In words: work out each tracked meme coin's price change over the last 30 days, average them equally, then subtract bitcoin's 30-day change. A coin missing data on a day is left out, and at least three must report for the day to count.
It follows six established meme coins; brand-new launches appear in Hype Radar first and here **only** if we later add their blockchain. History is limited by how far back our price data for those coins goes โ roughly one to two years, deepening daily.
The alert on this chart bands on measured edges, not on the zero line drawn here โ the series crosses zero 46 times a year on our own 1,150 daily readings (2023-06-04 โ 2026-07-27). Its edges are the measured 5th percentile (โ27.7596 points) and 95th percentile (+50.2873 points) of those readings, and that pair changes band 19 times a year.
