BTC ETF Money In
Every dollar that has gone into the American spot Bitcoin funds (ETFs) since they opened on 11 January 2024, added up day after day. The thick line is all the funds together; the thin lines are the two biggest โ IBIT and FBTC โ and the old Grayscale trust GBTC, which has been bleeding money out since its first day.
A spot Bitcoin ETF is a fund you buy like a share, and it holds real bitcoin on your behalf. This chart adds up the net money investors put into those funds, day after day, starting at zero on their first trading day.
It is measured in DOLLARS, not in coins.
A line that keeps climbing means money is still arriving; a line that flattens means the buying has stopped, even on days when the price is **rising**. Watch the thin lines against each other: by late July 2026 the running total for all funds together was about $51 billion, while IBIT alone had taken in about $60 billion and GBTC had given back about $27 billion.
In other words one fund has more than the whole industry, because the old Grayscale trust has been paying investors out the entire time.
In words: take each day's net flow as the source publishes it and add it to the previous day's running total. The starting point is a true zero โ on 10 January 2024 nobody had put a dollar into these funds yet โ so no opening balance is assumed anywhere.
The per-fund lines are the same running sum applied to that fund's own column. When you pick a shorter range, you still see the true running total on those days, not a sum of just that window.
This is money in and out, NOT the bitcoin the funds hold, and the two are genuinely different: dollars put in when bitcoin cost $40,000 bought far more coins than the same dollars today, and GBTC already held a large pile of bitcoin before it became an ETF, which no flow figure can show. We deliberately do not publish a coin count: the free public sources do not give every fund's opening balance, and we will not invent one.
There is one point per US TRADING day โ weekends and US market holidays have no point at all rather than a zero โ and the newest point lands the evening after the US close, so the line honestly ends one business day back.
