This is the slowest, stickiest kind of demand: companies that buy bitcoin as a treasury asset rarely sell into a dip. Always read the two lines together.
On 27 July 2026 the total was about 1,285,000 ₿ across 179 companies while Strategy alone held about 843,800 ₿ — roughly two thirds of it. So the total says as much about one company's decisions as it does about any broad corporate trend, and a jump in the top line that **is not** matched by the bottom line is the more interesting event.
The source publishes today's table of public companies and their bitcoin holdings; we read it, store the published total and Strategy's own figure, and stamp them on that day. A reading with fewer than 20 companies, a total outside 100,000–10,000,000 ₿, or a Strategy figure larger than the total is rejected rather than stored.
HISTORY IS SHORT AND THAT IS THE TRUTH: the source publishes **only** today's table — there is no historical endpoint — so our own record starts on 27 July 2026 and grows by one point a day. It **is not** back-filled, and the older vendor history that used to sit here was removed because we had no licence to pass it on.
Coverage is the public companies the source tracks; private companies, governments and ETFs are not in it, and a company only appears once its holding is disclosed, so every step up is really an announcement, not a purchase date.
