BTC OI by Exchange: 160.8K
Open bitcoin futures bets counted in coins and stacked by exchange: the outer purple area is Binance and Bybit together, the teal layer inside it is Binance alone, and the gap between them is Bybit.
How much bitcoin is committed to futures bets that are open and not yet closed, split by the exchange holding them. Counted in coins rather than dollars, so a **rising** price **does not** inflate the figure on its own.
Growing layers mean more borrowed-money bets are being opened; a sudden collapse means many were closed or force-closed at once. For example, a fall from 120,000 โฟ to 100,000 โฟ in a day means about a sixth of all open bets disappeared within 24 hours.
Comparing the layers shows where the leverage lives โ a Bybit gap widening faster than the Binance layer means risk is piling up on the smaller venue.
Stacked areas: purple is Binance and Bybit added together, teal is Binance alone, and the gap between them is Bybit. Both are taken in bitcoin exactly as those exchanges publish them.
Two exchanges **only**, so this is a large sample rather than the whole market. Exchanges publish only a short recent window, so our history accumulates forward from 15 July 2026 and grows one day at a time.
